11/03/2008 Support Engineer
Our objective is to recruit an experienced, highly-motivated individual with proven success within the IT industry who is able to deliver a high level of customer service and who is looking for an exciting new challenge. The main purpose of the role will be to provide daily support to new and existing customers and to liaise with internal colleagues, customers and third-party suppliers to help ensure that our customers' technical support and project requirements are met. Typical duties will include:
* providing first-line telephone support to customers
* logging and managing calls on internal helpdesk
* providing services to customers using remote support tools
* undertaking site visits to provide technical support to customers
* taking part in the implementation of project work for customers
* using monitoring tools to provide pro-active maintenance checks for customers
The role requires a blend of technical and customer-facing skills so the successful applicant will have a proven track record of performing well within technical roles as well as polished interpersonal skills.
You will have knowledge and first-hand experience of most of the following: Windows Desktop Operating Systems, PC Hardware, Microsoft Office & Outlook, Windows Server 2003, TCP/IP, LANs, WANs, Wi-Fi, VPNs, Hubs, Switches, Firewalls, ADSL Routers. Knowledge of MS Exchange would also be an advantage.
In return for this you will be paid £10-£20 per hour (plus mileage allowance) depending on experience and the work being done at the time.
You must have a full UK driving licence and your own transport.
